    Endwell, N.Y. - Maine Endwell 's Ashlynn McKnight signed her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Division II Roberts Wesleyan College. The Senior Captain has been a member of the M-E varsity basketball team since the 9th grade and currently averages 20 points a game. Ashlynn was also selected to the Basketball Coaches of NY Section IV team.  "I feel like Maine-Endwell has pushed me to become a better student, person and player" said McKnight.

    Dempsey Leads Seton To Victory With Six 3's

    Binghamton, N.Y. - The (9-3) Seton Catholics Central Saints hosted the (7-5) Susquehanna Valley Sabers on Thursday night. Tommy Dempsey and Brett Rumpel led the Saints to their 59-42 victory over the Sabers. Dempsey scored 22 points, 21 of those points came from six 3's. Rumpel was right behind at 21 points. On the other hand, Jarred Freije led the Sabers with 12 points.

    Johnson City, N.Y. - After two rounds of applications and narrowing it down to two candidates, Johnson City native Todd Place was named the Wildcats head football coach. Place, is a teaching assistant at Johnson City High School and has been part of the football coaching staff at JC for the last sixteen years. Not only has he made a difference in the classroom and on the football field, but Place has also coached wrestling and baseball for the Wildcats since 2000-01

    Owego, N.Y. - Owego volleyball star Grace Thomas was named the New York Volleyball Coaches Association Section IV Player of the Year.  The senior setter was apart of two Class B State Championships, one of them being in 2015 when the team went 19-0. Unfortunately, the Indians fell short in the State Championship game in 2018 against West hill.

    2018 Girl's Wildcat Holiday Invitational

    Johnson City, N.Y. - Although high school students are on Christmas break, it doesn't mean they can't pick up a basketball. A few Section IV girl's basketball teams took time out of their winter break to compete in the Third Annual Wildcat Holiday Invitational Tournament. The tournament started Thursday and ended Friday with the 2018 Wildcat Invitational Championship game against Maine-Endwell and Johnson City.

The New York State Sportswriters Association named Parker the NYSSWA runner of the year on Tuesday. The 2018 National Steeplechase Champion was also named senior runner of the year and a member of the Class B first team.

The Saints led 32-13 at halftime and contained the Sabers to only three field goals in the first half. The Saints walked away with the easy 70-29 win. Senior Marina Maerkl scored 25 points and senior Julia Hauer scored 18.

    Conklin, N.Y. - It's been four days since the Susquehanna Valley Sabers historic season came to an end, where they left the 2018 season as Class C State Champions. Something the Sabers football program has never done and they did it with unbelievable numbers. Throughout 13 games, SV scored 614 points, allowed 106 points and didn't lose a single game. Someone who had a pretty big part in that success was the State Championship MVP, quarterback Jared Freije.

    Earlier today Fran Angeline passed away in Eastern Pennsylvania, according to WNBF news. Angeline was the head football coach at Union-Endicott from 1960-92, as well as the boys tennis coach.     Elmira, Notre Dame Joins Eight-Man Football

    Binghamton, N.Y. - It was last season in 2017 when the New York State Public High School Athletic Association brought back eight-man football after more than 30 years. Today Section IV football announced that Elmira, Notre Dame will join the four other Section IV teams in the league.

The Chenango Forks Blue Devils came out ready right from the face-off. The Blue Devils scored 11 goals in the first quarter, 3 of those goals were scored by attacker Sean Wiser. Chenango Fork's defense reciprocated and only let up 1 goal throughout the game.
