Our latest Amphenol Aerospace Athlete of the Week comes way of Seton Catholic Central where Julien Montalvo is serving as a goalie, or as one of his teammates called him, a brick wall, for the Saints boys' lacrosse team.

Julien Montalvo has played lacrosse just about as long as he can remember.

"I've been playing lacrosse since Kindergarten," Montalvo said.

But it wasn't until sixth grade, that he made the switch to goalie, almost out of necessity.

"We didn't have a goalie, so I just hopped in," Montalvo said. "I thought it would be fun."

And believe me, the Seton lax program is thankful he made the switch.

"I believe in Julien to save it every single time," said junior attack Rory Callahan. "It's great to have him in the net because he's a literal brick wall."

Rory and Julien have the stats to back that up as well, the Saints are out to a 4-1 start and allowing less than five goals a contest so far.

"I mean, he's an absolute backbone of the defense," said head coach Shaun Duffy "Somebody that you can rely on. And when you have a goalie like that, you can kind of take chances on offense, push the ball a little bit because you know that you've got him in cage."

And another stat for ya, Julien picked up his 400th career save against Whitney Point last Wednesday.

"Well, at first it surprised me because a few days before my dad is like you're eight or nine away or whatever it was from 400," Montalvo said. "But, it just wasn't too big. I just thought about it as another save, keeps stopping the ball."

Montalvo, Rory and Coach Duffy all share that sentiment in common, stats are nice, but wins are better.

"Win Sectionals and make a Regionals run," Callahan when asked what his goal was for this season.

That would be a reverse from last year, falling in that Section IV Championship game.

"This whole year I ask the kids going into the year for a theme, and that theme was kind of vengeance playing along with the Batman theme," Duffy said. "That's something that we're definitely going to remember, that we're going to try and build upon."

Simply put, the goal is...

"Win sectionals," Montalvo said. "That's been the goal since eighth grade. Looking at varsity, just winning Sectionals."
