Taste of Chenango will be taking over the county fairgrounds for what Commerce Chenango is hoping is an even bigger event than last year.

"We'll have performances from local bands, area bands all day long," said President and CEO, Sal Testani. "We'll also have over 50 vendors. One of the cool things that we'll have this year, all of our vendors will have our sampling. So everybody that comes will be able to sample something in addition to purchasing from them."

The free event saw over 2,000 people from across New York visit the county.

"We wanted to bring everybody together so they could see what we have here and celebrate those variety of things that we have and make it free for all the people in our community."

Testani says the reception was overwhelming and people and businesses are excited for it to return.

"We had so many people there and we had a torrential downpour and our vendors were disappointed and relieved at the same time because they were starting to run out of products. They couldn't wait to come back this year. They said they'll be prepared for larger crowds. We really are looking forward to it."

Overall, Testani says this event highlights Chenango County and everything the people who call it home have to offer.

"Of course, we think that we feel that we live it every single day, but when we have that many people come together in the middle of our county and celebrate all the things that are from our county that reinforces that this truly is a special place to live, work and visit."

Taste of Chenango is Saturday, July 27 from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Testani encourages people to arrive early and stay late.
