A Norwich man is charged with Burglary and other charges after Norwich Police say he attempted to break into a Norwich home while on parole.

Norwich Police say at 4:15 p.m. on July 3rd, officers responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Westcott Street. The caller reported that an unknown male had climbed a ladder and was attempting to enter her third-floor apartment by forcing open the back door. The suspect was still on the ladder when police arrived on the scene.

Police say Adam Ferguson was charged with Burglary in the 2nd degree, Criminal Mischief in the 4th degree, and Criminal Trespass in the 3rd degree. Police add that he allegedly spray painted a pentagram and other items on the victim's door.

Ferguson was on parole for assault on a police officer in 2020. He was remanded to the Chenango County Sheriff's Office on $25,000 bail.
