Our latest Amphenol Aerospace Athlete of the Week is Addison Makowski, a star pitcher from Deposit-Hancock softball who won her third-straight state championship this past weekend with the Eagles.

Makowski struck out 21 batters in the Class D Championship game, pitching a complete game shutout for DH. Across two games in two days, Makowski pitched 13 innings, allowing a total of two hits and zero earned runs.

When asked what was working for her last weekend, here's what Addison and head coach Dan Briggs had to say.

"My screwball and my rise ball really came in handy," Makowski said. "And I use my changeup a little bit for strike three and that was really great."

"Everything," Briggs said. "She was hitting her spots. Her screwball was on point. They were swinging at the rise balls for us. And she was just hitting our spots just like she has been the last few weeks."

A third-straight state championship for the combined program and a third-straight championship won together for Addison and her mom, Kim, who serves as the team's assistant coach. Kim Makowski won Deposit's first two State Championships back in 1989 and 1990 and now gets to re-ignite a dynasty with her daughter Addison as a combined program. And believe me, the DH Eagles never got tired of winning.

"It's amazing to win it with her every year," Addison said. "She's helped me my whole career and it just means a lot to have her there."

"Every year you got a new group of kids, it's a first for them," Kim said. "Some of them have been here for years. They still love doing this, but you always get that group of new ones that have been waiting for their chance."

The Eagles continue to be an incredible dynasty, congratulations to Deposit-Hancock for winning it all for a third-straight season and finishing the year 22-2. If that wasn't enough, the Eagles' only losses came to eventual Class A State Champion, Marlboro in a 1-0 decision and Section IV Class A winner, Maine-Endwell in a 3-0 loss, these girls can play with anybody!
