Tioga County residents can learn how to become an election inspector and help run polling sites for this year's general election this summer.

New inspectors are needed by the county's Board of Elections. Inspectors will be trained to set up a poll site, operate election equipment and assist voters. Inspectors receive a base pay of $240 for working Election Day, and $112 for attending both election inspector certification and county employee training.

There are 10 scheduled election inspector training classes between June and September, and each class has a capacity of 20 people. You must be a registered voter of Tioga County to enroll. Classes fill up quickly, so to sign up for training or to learn more, contact the County Board of Elections at 607-687-8261 or [email protected].
