Fun times were had for all ages yesterday in Apalachin yesterday, all thanks to the second annual carnival at united Methodist church.

The church put on a fun filled afternoon of games and activities, including 16 different fair games, face painting, sack races and even "Pie the Pastor"!

All proceeds raised from the games as well as a silent auction went to Brothers and Sisters for The Cross, who will delegate it to local charities.

Touched by the strong turnout Saturday was pastor Leon Jicha, who spoke on how the event helps bring people together.

"Just to be able to get together and just love on each other and have fun and fellowship with one another," Jicha said. "And it doesn't matter who you are, where you are, what you are, you just come and enjoy. We just celebrate life together and celebrate love together and have just lots of laughter and fun together."

Nearly $3,000 were raised by last year's event, with organizers saying yesterday's proceedings were on track to surpass that figure.
