A former Delaware County resident who recently moved to Binghamton knows his punishment after failing to update his address.

According to the Delaware County District Attorney, Cachet Fernandez pleaded guilty to one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Fernandez admitted he had been previously convicted of a crime which required him to register his address within 10 days of moving and that he had indeed failed to update his address change with the NYS Sex Offender Registry within 10 days as required when he left the county from Unadilla to Binghamton.

Fernandez was sentenced to a three-year conditional discharge on his felony conviction. If Fernandez fails to keep his address current during that three-year period or otherwise violates any laws, he is subject to being re-sentenced to between 1.3 and 4 years in state prison.
