Over in Endicott, the Southern Tier chapter of the American Poolplayers Association held its final spring Tri Cup.

The tournament series, which has run over the last few weeks, is the second to last step for local pool teams to punch their ticket to the APA World Cup in Las Vegas.

Rosanne Cordero, league operator, explained what this weekend's tournament means to the teams.

"They play all year actually, to get this chance to play in this world qualifier," Cordero said. "So they play within all these three sessions to get into this world qualifier. So it means some of them, it means the world to them. So it's huge."

The qualifying teams will return to the American Legion Post 82 next weekend for the World Cup qualifier, which will decide who represents the southern tier in Vegas.
