One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in the Township of Oxford Tuesday night.

According the sheriff's office, the call came in at approximately 7:05 p.m. for a report of a two-vehicle crash on County Road 35 at the intersection of State Highway 220. The office says the operator of one of the vehicles was ejected from the vehicle and life-saving measures were taken. Raymond L. Smith of Oxford passed away from his injuries in the crash.

The office says the driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were able to exit their vehicle and were taken to Wilson Hospital for evaluation.

The office says that it is alleged that Smith was driving west on County Road 35 when the other vehicle, being operated by a juvenile, was traveling south on State Highway 220 and failed to stop at the intersection, striking the passenger side of Smith's vehicle.

The investigation is on-going.
