SUNY Broome's Hospitality Programs Department gave students throughout Broome County a chance to explore job opportunities at the university's hospitality career fair and open house.

12 companies, including Wegmans, Tioga Downs, and Doubletree, were in attendance. Over 50 students from SUNY Broome, BOCES, and Binghamton High School spoke with these companies and explored the university's exchange street facilities.

Students had the chance to walk away from today's event with potential job openings and interviews in the near future.

"They don't realize what a great networking event it is until they actually do it. And they just said, you know, they call me M So they're like, I'm this was great. It was great to talk to people because whether they may not end up at that facility, they may circle around and they may end up working with them in the future in another avenue," Professor & Chair of SUNY Broome Hospitality Programs Department Maria Montemagno said. "So it's nice for them to get to meet people, to get to know who these owners are and what opportunities are out there in case if they're not looking now, they might have an opportunity in the future. "
