The stage is set for the Binghamton University Women's Lacrosse Team in the NCAA Tournament, the Bearcats will take on the Yale Bulldogs on Friday May 10.

Binghamton coming off of a 12-11 win in the America East Championship game over UAlbany, the first ever time Binghamton has won a conference title as well as defeated the Great Danes in program history. Coach Stephanie Allen saying that this was a large moment for the program and the leaders of the team this season.

"Incredibly proud of this program and this team," said Allen. "It has been a long time in the making and I think this senior class especially has been a huge part of this happening today and this result that we got."

Senior attack Madison Murphy saying that being able to advance to the national tournament is something the team set as a goal at the beginning of the season.

"Our goal was to miss our graduation because we wanted to make it to the next step," said Murphy. "I think this is one of my biggest achievements in college and it is the best feeling".

Kristen Scheidel, also a senior on this Binghamton squad says that the 15 minutes of waiting plus a commercial break was all worth it because it means at least one more go-around with the class of 2024.

"At the end of the day, we're very excited just to be here and you know keep playing another day, " said Scheidel. "Especially as a senior getting another game is good and you want to keep playing as long as we can".

Coach Allen saying Yale was not expected on the list of opponents for the Bearcats but seems optimistic facing the Ivy League Champions who would defeat Penn 10-9 in overtime for the league championship and finish 15-2 on the season.

"Yale is a really strong opponent but one that we feel we will match up well against," said Allen. "Just in the few conversations that I've had with players, they're excited for this matchup and and really feel confident in who we're facing."

The Bearcats and the Bulldogs will collide on Friday May 10, more details regarding the contest will be provided as they are made available.
