Senator Lea Webb honored more than 15 farmers, small business owners, and community leaders from Broome, Cortland, and Tompkins County earlier today at her inaugural Earth Month Reception.

The honorees have proven track records of their commitment to promoting the health and safety of our community and preserving and supporting our planet.

This includes bringing access to clean and healthy water, fighting food insecurity, and supporting our farmers.

"A lot of the folks that do this work do it without seeking recognition, and for me, I really am very intentional in lifting up the names of folks who are doing the good work that often goes unrecognized," Webb said. "But it's important to create the space to thank them and to lift up the great work that they're doing that truly is impacting people's lives."
