Binghamton Police say half a dozen people have been arrested after shots were fired in the early-morning hours of April 27th in Binghamton.

According to police, an officer reported hearing up to 10 shots around 6 a.m. and officers responded to the area of 100 Susquehanna Street, Building A-5. Evidence that determined a shooting had occurred was found. The ensuing investigation determined two people had been shooting at each other. One of them was believed to be in Apartment A-5.

Further investigation determined occupants of Apartment A-5 had begun picking up shell casings in the area.

Binghamton Police Detectives and the Metro Swat team executed a search warrant. Two adults and one juvenile were taken into custody for their role in the shooting. While the warrant was being executed, police say other people arrived at the apartment and became hostile towards police. One adult and two juveniles were taken into custody.

The following three people were charged in regards to the shots fired incident:

  • Lamont Weaver was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd degree and Reckless Endangerment in the 1st degree
  • Lytiek Gadson was charged with Tampering With Physical Evidence
  • A 17-year-old Binghamton man was charged with Tampering With Physical Evidence

The following three people were charged in regards to the incident with police:

  • India Tombs was charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration
  • A 17-year-old Binghamton woman was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest
  • A 16-year-old Binghamton woman was charged with Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest

Weaver was arraigned and remanded to county jail. The other adults were issued appearance tickets and released, while the juveniles were released to their parents.
