Dozens of local children visited SUNY Broome earlier today as part of the 41st annual children's fair.

The fair promotes healthy lifestyles for kids by promoting fun activities put on by local organizations.

Lisa Strahely, a professor at SUNY Broome who helped organize the event, described its impact on the young participants.

"I think the greatest work that children do is play, and so we try to model hands-on, developmentally appropriate activities for children so that they're learning and growing in the healthiest of ways," Strahely said.

With a successful 41st edition in the books, Strahely says plans are already underway for next year's event.
