100 Years Ago is brought to you by Broome Recycles.

100 years ago today, The Triplets baseball team will open the 1924 league season at Johnson Field in a game against Utica on May 6.

The 1924 Shriners’ Musical Revue begins tonight at the Kalurah Temple with 200 girls in the cast, vaudeville acts, a minstrel show and dancing.

A Brockway truck filled with 259 bottles of gin and whiskey, was confiscated by police in Endicott at Vestal Avenue and Main Street this morning.

A Binghamton man who has been arrested 39 times on charges of public intoxication, was arrested again for the same reason. This morning he was sentenced to 59 days in the Broome County Jail.

Finally, an Endicott man was fined $15 after pleading guilty to having a slot machine for gambling in his establishment.

And that was the news 100 years ago.
