A partnership between Binghamton University and Binghamton-based battery technology company Natrion wins $65,000 from New York State non-profit organization Fuzehub.

Natrion focuses on making materials and components to help lithium batteries last longer, charge faster, and be safer from flammability. The $65,000 grant helps Natrion build the manufacturing line to ultimately launch their product.

The partnership with Binghamton University gives the company access to facilities for high-yield manufacturing processes and increases the production of Natrion's lisic component for rechargeable batteries.

"When it comes to raising money to build out, for example, a manufacturing line that can be difficult to do a proposal to lay out to investors if you haven't really diminished the technology risk or the production risk," Co-founder and CEO of Natrion Alex Kosyakov said. "So getting grant money such as this from resources like Fuzehub allows us to, you know, have alternative sources of money to complete this work that ultimately de-risk our production and our technology."
