Cornell Cooperative Extension of Broome County announces the launch of the new 'Grown in Broome' web platform.

It's a web platform that connects residents with direct-to-consumer farms and agritourism experiences throughout the county.

Some of those experiences include farm tours, you-pick food tours, and other opportunities at over 30 local farms.

Beth Roberts, Cornell Cooperative Extension Executive Director says, "The project was important as agritourism helps to diversify the income for our local farms and rural communities. It provides additional revenue streams through activities such as farm tours, you-pick operations, and onsite sales of produce and products. This can help stabilize farm incomes, especially during times of fluctuating commodity pricing. "

The platform also highlights Open Farm Day, which invites visitors to learn about farms and agriculture businesses for the day.
