The Binghamton Move Out Project is asking for volunteers to assist with the Spring Move Out initiative in May.

The initiative is scheduled to begin on Monday, May 6th and last through the end of the month. Volunteers will be needed for collecting, sorting, and distributing items. The project is an official project of the Susquehanna Group of the Sierra Club. Every spring, items are collected from students moving out of their college housing and donated to nonprofits.

The goal of the project is twofold: keep waste out of landfills and give back to the community. Last year, nearly 18,800 pounds collected from students went to  over 25 local nonprofits, schools, and churches. This year's goal is 25,000 pounds of items.
