The Binghamton University softball team has taken 10-straight games after sweeping Maine on Monday.

In game one, the Black Bears jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning, but the Bearcats responded shortly after, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the frame. The Bearcats' lead grew to 9-3 in the fourth before Maine plated two more in the sixth. BU, however, responded again, eventually winning game one of the doubleheader, and game two of the series, by a score of 12-5. Lindsey Walter and Bella Farina each went two-for-three in the win while four Bearcats doubled. Maddy Dodig, Shelby Carvalho and Farina each brought in two runs.

In game two of the day, and the series finale, pitching was the key to victory. Maine-Endwell grad and starting pitcher Allison L'Amoreaux tossed a complete game, allowing zero runs and striking out 10 in the effort. L'Amoreaux helped her own cause in the fourth inning, homering to center field to bring in the first two runs of the game. Dodig brought Farina home later in the inning as BU won 3-0 to sweep the series 3-0.

BU is in sole possession of first place in the America East at 7-2, but plays five conference games this week, all on the road.
