It will be the #4 seeded Watertown Wolves taking on the #1 seeded Binghamton Black Bears in the opening round of the FPHL Commissioners Cup playoffs that will begin this upcoming weekend.

This season Binghamton has taken 10 of the total 13 games played during the regular season between them and Watertown. However most recently Watertown has won two of the last three matchups, Binghamton winning the last matchup in overtime.

Binghamton will be riding high going into the playoffs as they have won their last seven games to wrap up the regular season. Black Bears defenseman Colan Fitzgerald says that it will be essential winning game one on the road in Watertown on Friday.

"We are going to have our hands full for sure," said Fitzgerald. "We don't want to have our backs against the wall".

The defenseman who came back midway through the season will be eligible to play in the playoffs this upcoming week as Fitzgerald met the required amount of games played before the post season as of their game Saturday against Elmira. Fitzgerald says he is looking forward to seeing the Binghamton faithful for game two at the arena come Saturday.

"They are the best fans in the league," said Fitzgerald. "We are always going to have home ice advantage with our fans here and they are amazing".
