Binghamton University announced on Friday that the school and women's basketball coach Bethann Shapiro Ord "have agreed to part ways" after six seasons at the helm.

Shapiro Ord went 75-92 in her Binghamton tenure, reaching the America East semifinals this past season. Shapiro Ord and Co. also made the Semifinals in 2020, losing to Stony Brook on the road. The Bearcats hosted on playoff game during her time in Vestal.

Athletic Director Eugene Marshall wrote in a press release, "We want to thank Coach Ord for her service to the University and our women's basketball program." There was no comment from Shapiro Ord in the statement.

Shapiro Ord provided a statement to FOX 40 saying the following,

"I loved my time at Binghamton and I want to thank all my players both past and present, my incredible staff, the Binghamton community and president Harvey Stenger for all of their support during my time at Binghamton. I am looking forward to my next chapter and the new challenges ahead".

The University says a national search for her replacement will begin immediately.
