A Delhi nurse pleads guilty to stealing drugs and using them for her own personal use.

According to the Delaware County District Attorney, Katie Ryerson was convicted of Petit Larceny in January. She was working at the Delhi Rehabilitation and Nursing Center when she stole oxycodone pills from a nursing home resident for her own personal use in June 2023.

On Monday, Ryerson was placed on interim probation supervision for at least one year. Part of this requires Ryerson to enroll in and complete the Delaware County Adult Treatment Court Program. If she fails to complete the program, she will be sentenced to one year in jail.

It is expected that Ryerson's nursing license will be suspended by the state Department of Education until she completes the program, and then the department will decide whether or not she can resume nursing.
