Congressman Marc Molinaro announced on Monday that his Think DIFFERENT About Emergencies Act has passed through the House of Representatives with bipartisan support.

The bill is based off a study that found individuals with disabilities are two to four times more likely to die or be critically injured during disaster situations.

Molinaro directed this towards the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Government Accountability Office to commission on a report on assisting and providing resources to individuals with disabilities and their families that are affected by major disasters in the United States.

In a statement provided by Molinaro he says,

""Individuals with disabilities are more likely to be critically injured or die during natural disasters. My bill ensures no one is left behind by working to get them specialized support to safely evacuate and recover after a disaster strikes."
