The Greater Binghamton Sports Hall of Fame has announced their Class of 2024, honoring 13 individuals who have impacted the Southern Tier sports world.

"Our mission remains the same, we're here to honor and remember our community sports legends," said the Hall of Fame's president Tony Quagliata. "And I think we've been doing that for a while. And every year, I'm always impressed more and more by the people that come forth every year. It's really incredible."

This year's induction dinner will be at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Downtown Binghamton, scheduled for Monday, April 29th at 6:30 pm. There has not been a speaker announced for the event, Jim Boeheim was the event's keynote last April.

The Honorees are subjected to the Hall of Fame's induction committee which surveys over hundreds of nominees each year.

"I think it is important to know that once there was a selection made for the class, those people who were involved in that class were certainly among the elite in sports history in our area all time," said committee member Roger Neel. "So it is a very outstanding honor and I think it's a great tribute to our area."

The Hall of Fame also hands out a pair of $1,500 scholarship awards to local high school seniors. This year, Maine-Endwell's Aleciyah Brodley received the "John W. Fox Award" and Union-Endicott's Jaylon Yearwood was given the "John B. Caveny Award".
