For the first year ever, CCE Broome County is collaborating with Broome County farmer's markets to  bring the Sweets and Treats Market Event for county residents.

18 vendors will be at the February 22 event, offering tastings of sweets and selling different baked goods.

Collaborating with Cornell Cooperative Extension, all five farmer's marks in Broome County will be taking part in this market.

Taking place over at Broome County Regional Farmers Market, the hope is to allow small businesses to show off their products.

"So with our farmer's market and then also our taste New York program and our commercial kitchen, we have a lot of food startups in the area, so we work with a lot of people that are just getting their businesses started. And so we have a lot of resources to help with licensing and permits and everything like that," Event Coordinator for CCE Broome County Noelle Palmatier said. "So we also have a lot of wonderful bakers in the area. So we kind of wanted to take this opportunity to give them a chance to to share their products and everything that they do."
