Drive-By Shooting in Downtown Binghamton Kills One
Binghamton Police say a 20-year-old man is dead after a shooting this evening at 115 Henry Street in Downtown Binghamton.
According to police, the victim was driving a vehicle when he was struck, causing his vehicle to crash.
When authorities arrived on scene just after 5 p.m., they located the victim, deceased lying in the street.
Police note that this was not a random act, they were familiar with the victim.
By 5:30 p.m. police had shut down Fayette Street and parts of Henry Street.
There were no other injuries reported.
While investigating, police note there was another report of shots fired. This was determined to be fireworks set off in the area.
This is an ongoing investigation.
