100 years ago today, the annual Binghamton Automobile Show opened at the state Armory last night. More than 2,500 people crowded into the building to view one of the greatest exhibits of automobiles ever shown here. There are 94 cars on display, representing 21 different manufacturers.

A small park is being built on Binghamton’s South Side. It will be known as MacArthur Park and is located along Conklin Avenue to the west of the Washington Street Bridge. The land is being filled in, trees will be planted, and bench seats will be placed along the river bank this spring.

Finally, that nice spring weather we had in Binghamton over the weekend resulted in the arrests of 17 men on charges of public intoxication.

And that was the news 100 years ago.
