Two Vestal men are facing charges after the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force, with assistance from the METRO SWAT Team and the Vestal Police Department, executed a search warrant at 1 Wakeman Road in Vestal Wednesday.

In all, fentanyl pills, cocaine, Oxycodone Hydrochloride, paraphernalia, a 12-gauge shotgun, a loaded high-capacity .223 magazine, ammunition, and over $1,000 were found in the residence.

Daontay A. Stephenson and Willie C. Mims were arrested and charged.

Stephenson was charged with the following:

Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd and 3rd degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Promoting Prison Contraband in the 1st degree, and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree.

While Stephenson was in an interview room, officials say he tampered with evidence by destroying Acetaminophen/Oxycodone Hydrocholoride pills that were hidden in his pants, which is where the Tampering charge stems from.

Mims was charged with three counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th degree, Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd degree, and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree.
