The Food Bank of the Southern Tier went on a grati-tour today to celebrate the success of their annual Check Out Hunger campaign at Wegmans locations.

The Johnson City location raised the most, $56,118. This helps the food bank provide 168,354 meals.

"We couldn't do without them. We just couldn't do it," said President and CEO of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier Mark Bordeau. "Out of the money they raise are going to 160,000 families in the community. Just tremendous. You know, we've seen the highest need ever since we started tracking data."

The Food Bank also celebrated the Golden Cashiers, those who raised the most, at each location. Johnson City's said her secret was just asking.

"People give all the time. You know, it doesn't always have to be monetary. It can be volunteering. And I think when people when people give in any way, I think that's the most important part," said Cheryl Clarke.
