DICK's House of Sport in Johnson City celebrated the grand opening of its new outdoor ice skating rink on Saturday, November 18th.

The House of Sport hosted around 175 skaters on the first day of the 100-by-60-foot rink's opening.

Community Experience Director at DICK's House of Sport in Johnson City Michael Wenner says this experience is unlike any other.

"When we think about the community and experiences is just to be able to offer an experience that you wouldn't be able to get just about anywhere. This is very unique. There's not very many outdoor rinks that are only here for three or four months of the year," Wenner said. "So it's just incredible that, you know, Dick's Sporting Goods and the Stark Family are giving back to the community."

The House of Sport is holding open skate for all patrons on Thursday and Friday from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12-8 p.m.
