BU Men's Soccer Picks Up First Win of Season in Home Opener
Coming into the week, BU men's soccer was 0-3, but in the Bearcats' home opener, they pulled out a 3-1 win against St. Bonaventure.
The first half saw both teams suffer from a scoring drought. BU put up 10 shots, Bonaventure three, none of which found the back of the net.
However, in the second half, BU scored early in the 49th minute as Anthony Lazaridis found the cage off a Michael Bush assist.
Minutes later in the 63rd, Jack Green scored off a solo shot high on the woodwork to make it 2-0.
That's when the Bonnies got back into the game, scoring just three minutes later to cut the Binghamton lead in half.
But the nail in the coffin came in the 78th with a Markos Touroukis goal to make it 3-1.
Dylan McDermott played the entire game with a relatively quiet game in net, allowing one goal and picking up just one save.
BU continues its year against Lafayette this Saturday at home. Kickoff is set for 6:07 p.m.
