A group of local community members held a protest against Congressman Molinaro in downtown Binghamton today.

The citizens action of New York gathered to voice their displeasure with the congressman.

The group called for change claiming the congressman is not doing enough for veterans, single mothers in New York and that policies are hurting senior citizens with social security and go against women's health rights in New York.

"Look, we need universal child care, universal health care. And as a as a basis, we need to keep the programs that are working intact. Snap, WIC, TANIFF. These cannot be cut. If these are cut, it is so detrimental to so many families throughout this district that survive on these vital programs." Said Ravo Root a leader of Citizens Action of New York.

We reached out to Molinaro's office and he responded saying. “I’ve held Town Halls, Telephone Town Halls, and listening sessions in Broome County because I welcome feedback. However, like many families, farmers, and small businesses, I have concerns with Citizen Action’s progressive policy platform and question their motives when they stage these made-for-TV events – instead of engaging in productive dialogue. I’m going to keep fighting to protect Social Security, Medicare, veterans benefits, and programs that vulnerable New Yorkers rely on. These programs are working and have strong, bipartisan support.”
