100 Years Ago is brought to you by the Kilmer Mansion.

100 years ago today, three automobiles that were parked along State Street this afternoon were badly wrecked when a team of horses pulling a heavy bobsled ran wild through downtown streets and crashed into the parked cars.

The new skating rink at Lyons Park on Conklin Avenue is now open and a band concert will be held there tonight.

The Arlington Hotel on Chenango Street is expanding. Plans have been announced to build a large, eight-story addition to the building this spring.

Finally, there was some excitement on South Street this morning. Police were called to break up a heated argument between two neighbors who were shouting derogatory remarks from their front porches. They were taken to court this morning, charged with calling each other indecent names in public.

And that was the news 100 years ago.
