Kristopher “Kris” Gathright was selected as NAPA Transportation’s Veteran of the Month for August 2022.

Kris was in the Air Force as a Security Forces member (i.e., MP) from 2005 – 2015. While he was in Afghanistan on a Physical Readiness Training (PRT) mission, he was driving a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle for the first time and was hit with an IED (pictured). Fortunately, he endured no injuries or physical damage but, upon returning from deployment, Kris realized he was terrified to be in a vehicle if he wasn’t driving. Kris was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant (E-5) in 2015.

After he left the military, Kris became a truck driver. In September 2020, Kris joined NAPA Transportation because he was wanted to driver for a smaller company.  He anticipated being just a nameless worker bee but everyone knows him by name and he said his co-workers are “impossible not to like”.

Kris is originally from Memphis, TN but is a huge Buffalo Bills fan.  He’s never been to a game in-person before and is hoping to get to one this season.
