During a press conference at united way of Broome county on August 2nd, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo announced that the State Legislature passed a bill she introduced to activate 2-1-1 NYS information and referral service during state disaster emergency. 

This legislation adds the state director, Kelly Dodd, of 2-1-1 NYS to the Governors Disaster Preparedness Commission.

Speakers at todays press conference included Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, 2-1-1 NYS State Director Kelly Dodd, United Way of Broome Executive Director LoriAnne Welch, and Susquehanna River Region 2-1-1 Director Candace Gregory.

Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo also helped secure 2.4 million for 2-1-1 services earlier this year, an investment that will all a development of statewide resource database services and a centralized website to facilitate resource inquiries.
