The America East made their All-Conference selections for the 2021-22 basketball season and a local standout received some recognition.

Owego Free Academy graduate and Bearcats freshman forward Genevieve Coleman was selected to the America East’s All-Rookie Team. Coleman is the first Binghamton Women’s Basketball player to be named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team since 2016. She earned rookie of the week honors 3 times this season. Coleman tied for the team lead in field goal percentage at 46.2%.

Junior guard Denai Bowman for the second straight season was voted to the America East’s First Team All-Conference and All-Defensive Team. Bowman is tied for the conference lead in points per game at 14.5, second in steals with 1.9 per game and fourth in assists with 3.7 per contest. She is just the third Binghamton player to be named first team all-conference twice since the program joined the America East in 2001.

The Bearcats play in the America East Quarterfinals this weekend. As the 6 seed they will travel to Vermont to face the 3 seed Catamounts Saturday at 2:30pm.
