A yearly event throughout New York State where libraries give back to their communities is returning to Broome County this next month. The Four County Library System in Suffolk began "The Great Give Back in 2017" in hopes of connecting more with their communities. Since then it has spanned across the state with more than a dozen library systems participating.

Five libraries in the area will be participating next month including the Broome County Public Library in Binghamton, the Vestal Public Library, George F. Johnson Memorial Library in Endicott, the Moore Memorial Library in Greene, and the Guernsey Memorial Library in Norwich. Each of which will have different activities and projects to help better their respective communities.

"It's amazing to see the creativity of our member libraries in the community, and the way that they do connect with their community differently, different populations in their community, different their community. The way that they are connecting their patrons with opportunities to give back, it's just exciting to see the creativity and the way that they really do care about their communities." Says Sarah Reid, Outreach and Youth Services Manager, Four County Library System
