Pair of Owego Seniors Sign NLIs

A pair of Owego seniors made their dreams of becoming college student-athletes official.
Evee Coleman signed her National Letter of Intent today to play basketball for Binghamton University. Coleman had a remarkable career for the Indians. She was been named to the All-State and All-STAC teams twice each. She’s a 2-time Tioga Defensive Player of the Year and 2-time Section 4 All-Star. She’s a star off the court as well finishing 3rd in her class and is a member of National Honor Society. Coleman is thrilled to be playing for the Bearcats so close to home.
“Binghamton has a very family like program,” says Coleman. “They’ve been recruiting me since I was young, and I’ve just wanted to be a part of that program since the first recruitment. It’s very special, I’m super excited to not be that far and have my family and friends able to come and watch me play.”
Coleman will be majoring in Biology at Binghamton.
Also signing her NLI today was Indians swimmer Ashleigh Gault who will compete for Division 2 Adelphi University. Gault has been a consistent top finisher at sectionals and top 10 finisher at states. This year she finished first in the 200-meter freestyle and 100 fly at the Sectional Championships.
“It feels super exciting,” says Gault. “I really love swimming in general so just being able to swim for a school like Adelphi, I’m just really excited to be on a college team.”
Outside the pool Gault is a member of National Honor Society and Interact Club. See will be majoring in Social Work at Adelphi.
