A yearly tradition to raise money for childhood cancer research went virtual this year out of Norwich. The annual "St. Baldrick's" event was introduced to the area in 2005, and since has brought people together to shave their heads in support of various childhood cancers. The goal for the event this year was set for $30,000, and had just barely met the goal before the event even started on Saturday.

Over 25 registrants participated this year to get shaved down for the cause, a cause that organizers say they felt obligated to keep this tradition alive no matter what.

"We were one of the first 50 St. Baldrick's events in the country and we felt we had an obligation to do everything we could to still hold up our end of the bargain and provide money for childhood cancer research." Says St. Baldrick's Norwich Co-Organizer A. Wesley Jones
