Following a vote by the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association's Board of Directors, high school sports will be permitted to start on August 24th. The board agreed that the decision  should be made on a school to school basis on if they'd like to proceed with athletics and which sports they will allow. Schools will have to adhere to the school health and safety plans the PIAA has developed. The PIAA will monitor how fall sports go and develop alternatives if needed.

The PIAA initially gave the green light to play fall sports on time but then delayed the start after Governor Tom Wolf recommended no sports until to 2021.
