Binghamton, N.Y. - Mercy House founder and priest Father Clarence Rumble will be living up to his last name on Thursday June 8. Father Clarence will be throwing out the first pitch at the Rumble Ponies game against the Trenton Thunder, the first pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

But before he heads to the hill, he received pitching lessons from a guy who knows a thing or two about baseball. Binghamton Rumble Ponies pitching coach Jonathan Hurst gave Father Clarence some pitching lessons at NYSEG stadium on Friday afternoon.

"I feel a little bit more confident today" said Father Clarence. "Last time I was here, John Hughes said 'I don't care if you're a priest or not, if you don't make it to home plate, they're gonna boo ya.'

"He's going to be fine" said Jonathan Hurst. "It's tough when you haven't thrown for years. Like I said, he just needs to get his range of motion backa and get the ball from one point to another."

"If I'm not down in the bullpen getting my pitcher ready, I'm going to be witnessing the whole thing."

Thursday, June 8 will also consist of a fundraiser during the game. All proceeds will go to Mercy House and you can head to their website and find how to purchase tickets for Thursday's game.
