Binghamton, NY – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (21-12) swept their doubleheader at home Tuesday against the Altoona Curve (18-19) at NYSEG Stadium. The Ponies won Game 1 7-0 and Game 2 5-1.

Game One – Rumble Ponies 7, Curve, 0

Anthony Kay threw a 3 hit shutout, issuing just one walk and 8 strikeouts on 87 pitches in the Rumble Ponies 7-0 win over the Curve. Binghamton was also propelled by a six-run sixth inning that blew the game open. In that frame, Barrett Barnes had an RBI double, Patrick Mazeika had a two-run double, and it was capped off by a three-run homer by Dario Pizzano. It was Pizzano’s 3rd home run of the year.

Kay goes to 3-2 on the year, dropping his ERA to 1.24, second in the Eastern League. Hitters are only batting .148 against him, lowest in the EL. He has also only allowed 2 runs over his last five starts
