Grants Help Local Artists Enrich Community

From dance, to theater, to film, grants are helping local artists share their works to enrich the community.
On Wednesday, the Broome County Arts Council handed out its United Cultural Fund grants. More than $230,000 went to local art organizations, community non-profits, and individual artists.
The Tri-Cities Opera received more than $50,000. The money will help fund a number of TCO programs, including its touring educational OPERA-GO-ROUND. The program performs for more than 20,000 students in New York and Pennsylvania annually.
"It's an invitation to be a vital part of the community," said Charles Cesaretti, Board Member of the Tri-Cities Opera, "And to continue our work not only in entertainment, but also especially in education because education is really the base of so much that we do."
