Broome County Men Arrested for Robbery and Larceny at Maines

Two Broome County men have been arrested after an alleged larceny incident at Maines Food and Party Warehouse.
Nicholas J Bump, 23 of Binghamton, and Keith W Starford, 37 of Endicott, were arrested by Broome County Sheriff’s following a larceny investigation that occurred at Maines Food and Party Warehouse on March 3, 2016.
Bump is accused of using force, by physically resisting apprehension by a store employee, while attempting to steal several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise from the business. Starford is accused of being present during the incident but not actively participating in the larceny.
Bump has been charged with one count of Felony Robbery and will appear in the Town of Chenango Court at a later date. Starford has been charged with one count of Misdemeanor Petit Larceny, and was released on an appearance ticket to return to the Town of Chenango Court at a later date.
As a result of the investigation, Bump is also accused of stealing merchandise from the business during the month of February 2016. Bump was charged with one count of Misdemeanor Petit Larceny, for the February theft and will appear in the Town of Chenango Court at a later date for arraignment.
In a press release Sheriff David E. Harder thanked the public in the southern tier for their assistance with this investigation. According to the release, after posting images of the incident to social media, the Sheriff’s Office received several tips from the citizens of Broome County and as a result was ultimately able to identify and arrest the subjects involved in the larceny.
