Lindsay Raychel

Lindsay is a native of the Binghamton area and a proud graduate of Chenango Forks High School. She received her B.S. degree in Meteorology with a minor in Journalism from the State University of New York College at Oneonta.
Her passion for weather started at an early age when her fascination with clouds and thunderstorms developed. She began competing in weather forecasting competitions in the eighth grade as a member of the CF Weather Watch team. She also shadowed local broadcast meteorologists during that time and realized how much a daily forecast can help someone.
Witnessing the impact of severe weather in the Southern Tier has taught her how important the weather is to people, whether they’re planning a picnic or preparing for an emergency.
In college, Lindsay participated in forecasting competitions with students across the country. Her interest in broadcasting took her to Miami, FL for the 38th Annual Conference on Broadcast Meteorology where she presented with fellow students on “Preparing the Next Generation of Broadcast Meteorologists”.
Lindsay began working at Fox40 in November 2014 as a Weekday Reporter and Weekend Meteorologist. One of her favorite accomplishments to date, having grown up attending the Spiedie Fest & Balloon Rally, was receiving the honor of being crowned champion of the 2015 Celebrity Spiedie Cooking Competition with Fox40’s own Jeremy Donovan.
In her free time, Lindsay enjoys photography, biking, hiking and following local sports teams.
