A Norwich woman has been arrested for her involvement in a meth lab.


On Tuesday, Chenango County Sheriff's Office arrested Rachel E. Cummings, 27, for Unlawful Manufacturing Methamphetamine after an investigation revealed several “one pot” meth labs around the Norwich Motor Lodge.


On February 14th, 2016 the Sheriff’s Office responded to the Norwich Motor Lodge for a report of “one pot” methamphetamine labs located in the dumpster. Police found additional “one pots” which were located behind one of the motel rooms. Overall several “one pots”, laboratory equipment, and additional evidence were removed from the location.


On February 23rd the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division filed an arrest warrant for Cummings. Cummings was later located at the Department of Social Services and arrested. She was charged with Unlawful Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Criminal Possession of Precursors of Methamphetamine.


Cummings was arraigned in the Town of Norwich Court and remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $1000 cash bail.
