The race for Congress in the 22nd District of New York is heating up.

Assemblywoman Claudia Tenney (R) rallied Sunday to build up excitement for her campaign. Tenney's supporters came out to the Brothers 2 Restaurant in Endicott for the event.

Tenney says she wants to see Broome County secure more jobs and lower taxes.

"In Broome County, I'd like to secure jobs, I'd like to see the opportunity to have safe responsible gas drilling. We also need to lower our tax burden and lower our property tax burden as well, said 22nd District Candidate Claudia Tenney (R).

Republican Congressman Richard Hanna announced his retirement from Congress last year. Tenney lost to Hanna in a primary in 2014
