Students Draw Architecture Inspiration From Their Communities

On Friday, middle school students in Tioga County unveiled architectural projects they've planned with their own communities in mind.
The Architectural Awareness Program has been successfully running for 21 years.
Students came up with plans to improve and revive older, community buildings in their hometowns.
Teachers say each year, they're wowed by the dedication of their students.
"It's unbelievable how much time the kids put forth. They will give up their lunches, days before their vacations, they will come down in the morning, definitely after school, during their study halls," said Don Shultz, Apalachin Science Teacher.
Students from Owego-Apalachin, Tioga Central, Newark Valley, and Candor participated in the program.
