The Vestal Golden Bears had a remarkable soccer season, running through Section IV unbeaten and unscored upon. A big part of their success was Madeline Beaulieu who led the team in goals and assists en route to an All-Region selection and First Team All-State Selection. Today she signed her letter of intent to play soccer at Division I Canisius.

The Golden Bears season ended in a Regional Loss to Goshen in penalty kicks, but Beaulieu's season ended a bit earlier when she went down with a season ending ACL injury. She said rehab is going well and she'll be ready to get back on the field in no time.

As for choosing Canisius to be home for the next four years? It fit all her requirements.

"My dream really was to play D-I soccer, so that obviously, Beaulieu said. "Canisius has really good academics as well for what I want to go into. It's also a school that's not too big so the class size is more personable. It's also a good distance from home for me, it's not too close, it's not too far, so I can feel comfortable going away but it's still far enough away as well."

Beaulieu plans to study Athletic Training/Kinesiology.
